这些舰只于1889年和1890年下水，到1892年已准备好为希腊海军服役。它们配备了一个由三门10.8英寸（274毫米）火炮和五门5.9英寸（150毫米）火炮组成的主炮组，最高时速为17节（31公里/小时；20英里/小时）。

虽然吨位有点大，还100米长，但是设计上还是符合澎湖台湾长江口近海防御的，裴荫森、张之洞等大员一直构思三艘铁甲舰为主的船政海军，假如真的这三艘到位也算梦想成真了。

其水线装甲可以设计为首尾贯穿的递减式装甲带，上层建筑尽可能的低矮，锅炉蒸汽机还是进口英国的。

主炮还是尽可能致远那种瓦瓦斯双联装210，统一口径型号。

法国人的炮太怪了，不适应

因为中法战争，所以任何架空在80年到90年的时候去碰法国船都是很难搞的，而且英国货和德国货哪个不能代替法国货？

27cm: French M1887 L/30 and L/36 made by Canet armed the Psara class. Nearly all guns of similar calibre in the French Navy which survived to 1914 were considerably longer (the battleship Hoche and the gunboat Styx had 28-calibre M1884 guns of this type). Like other contemporary French guns, they consisted of thick A tubes reinforced over their breech areas by a long jacket.They were close-hooped to the muzzle, with one layer of broad hoops shrunk on over the jacket.Weights were 32.3 tons (L/30) and 35.3 tons (L/36) respectively; overall lengths were 27ft (32ft5in); bore lengths were 28 (34) calibres; the AP shell weighed 551lbs (278lb brown powder charge)and the Common shell 441lbs (181lb prismatic powder charge), muzzle velocities being 2051ft/sec and 1706ft/sec for the short gun and 2182ft/sec and 1870ft/sec for the long gun. Chamber pressure was 15.25 tons/in2 .
15cm/36: This Canet gun armed the Psara class: weight 6.52 tons, length overall 17ft 9in, bore length 34 calibres, AP shell 92.6lbs (50.4lb brown powder charge), 2133ft/sec, Common shell 92.6lb (37.5lb charge), 1772ft/sec.
