Me: Hey everyone! I’m here with Cody Simpson for Cody-Simpson.Org, I’m Lexi, and we’re gonna ask him a few questions!
Cody: I’m Cody!
Me: So, what made you start swimming?
Cody: Start swimming? Um… Well I guess I just started taking swimming lessons when I was zero years old. So it was just having the experience of being around water at such a young age.
Me: Do you have any other favorite sports besides swimming?
Cody: Surfing, and uh, I’m kind of into all the water sports and stuff.
Me: Do you have any advice for other kids who’d like to become famous?
Cody: Definitely, I mean just work hard and never give up, and also, if you want to become a musician or something, the internet is a great way to do it.
Me: Are you planning to visit any other countries soon?
Cody: Hopefully next year, I mean I’ve always wanted to go to Italy. My favorite food is pizza and pasta and stuff so yeah.
Me: How is the US different from Australia?
Cody: Different from Australia… well it’s much bigger, a lot busier and a lot more people and stuff. In America, there are so many different parts of the country that are totally different from one another like New York compared to Texas or something.
Me: So what inspired you to make music?
Cody: Well again, just like my swimming, I mean being around music and stuff like my dad always used to play and sing with the guitar, we always had friends come over and stuff, so that was just what inspired me to start, then I actually grew up around Country music. I know that sounds kind of funny, but I grew up around Country music and it just kind of evolved and yeah, I just started listening to different kinds of genres and now I’m doing pop music and stuff like that.
Me: So what do you like to do in your free time?
Cody: I love just being, you know, a normal kid! You know, just um, going to the beach with friends, and going to the movies, hanging out with family.
Me: How do you like Florida so far?
Cody: This is my first time here in Miami, I mean I haven’t seen much, but my stage and the hotel, it looks really nice and Flo Rida was telling me that Miami is much like where I’m from in the Gold Coast, Australia, with all the beaches and stuff, it’s beautiful, it’s beautiful.
Me: Any plans for the holidays?
Cody: Well I’ll be back in L.A. for Christmas, and I’ll have a few weeks off and instead of having to go back to Australia, we’ve got all our family from Australia coming over to us in LA to visit us, so we’ll just hang out with them.
Me: Now, these are some questions from fans, where do you buy your beanies from?
Cody: I actually have my stylist so he brings me some stuff. The brand is actually NEFF. N-E-F-F.
Me: What’s your favorite cereal?
Cody: Ohhh, anything, I know this sounds weird, but anything that tastes good. Well, actually, while I’m singing, when I’m on the road and stuff, I can’t have milk with my cereal so sometimes I’ll be in the airport and some people will see me in the airport with like a dry cereal box. And umm I love Frosted Flakes, and yeah, Kelloggs.
Me: Do you ever Google yourself for the fun of it?
Cody: I have once a little while ago, but not recently, It’s kind of corny, I Google myself.
Me: Do you have a fanmail?
Cody: Well when I was back in Australia I had one it’s like PO box 114, Pacific Fair, Gold Coast, but um, now that we’ve moved to LA, I think we’ll set one up there.
Me: What’s the craziest fan experience you’ve ever had?
Cody: Ohh, I mean I’ve had all these people like, they give me like phones and iPods and stuff like that, I mean it’s so cool that people are enjoying my music and stuff like that for being so supportive.
Me: Last question, what do you want for Christmas?
Cody: Umm… A Keyboard. Yeah, a keyboard.
